FAQ
Is waxing sanitary?
Yes! I NEVER double dip waxing sticks and a topical anti-bacterial cream is applied post wax.
How long should the hair be?
Hair needs to be at least 1/4" to 1/2" in length for the wax to properly grab it. Usually this means 2-4 weeks after you last shaved, depending on how fast your hair grows.
How long will it last?
You should have 2-3 weeks of fairly smooth skin. I recommend booking appointments every 4-6 weeks.
What are the different types of bikini waxes?
Traditional Bikini- removes all hair just outside of the "panty line."
French Bikini- somewhere between a traditional & a brazilian, it removes hair a little further in, while still leaving some hair.
Brazilian Bikini- removes ALL hair front to back, including labia & perineal areas, a small strip or V can be left in front.
What can i do to prepare for a Brazilian wax?
Taking Ibuprofen 1-hour prior to service and avoiding caffeine can reduce the pain factor. Topical numbing creams may be applied 30 minutes before (i.e.- "No Scream Cream" or "PBF Numb-It.") Hair should be trimmed, but no shorter than 1/4" to 1/2". Cleansing wipes are provided for your safety and comfort.
I'm on my period, can I still get waxed?
If possible, avoid scheduling your appointment just before or during your menstrual cycle. We recommend this only because we tend to be most sensitive during this time. However, if you're feeling brave we will wax you anytime you desire.
I'm on medication prescribed by my dermatologist, can I get waxed?
For best results, please inform me of any recent changes in your skincare regiment. Due to heightened skin sensitivity, facial waxing should be avoided if you regularly use any of the following:
Accutane, Adapalene, Antibiotics, Alustra, Avita, Avage, Benzoyl Peroxide, Chemical Peels, Clindamycin, Differin, Glycolic Acids, Isotretinoin, Renova, Retin- A, Retinols, Salicylic Acids, Strivectin, Tazorac, Tretinoin…
No worries though! We do offer tweezing as an alternative to facial waxing. Generally, body waxing is ok with the exception of Accutane users!
I've had a bad waxing experience in the past, what can I expect?
I am a state licensed, non-medical esthetician. I specialize in individual eyebrow design and sanitary yet speedy body waxing! My focus is always on your skin's health & safety!
With over 11 years of experience in the industry, we have learned that beginning every service with a thorough consultation gives me the information I need to make the best assessment for your waxing & skincare needs. It also allows YOU time to voice any questions & concerns you may have regarding your waxing history. I encourage you to bring in photos or magazine clippings of eyebrow shapes and styles you love.
Please notify me of any new medications you may be taking or any known allergies, so I can better serve you. I believe we can work together to achieve the best results!
Can I tan before or after I get waxed?
Tanning should be avoided for at least 48-hours post waxing. Waxed skin is more photosensitive and thus more susceptible to burning. Please note that we CANNOT wax skin that has been reddened or burnt due to sun/ UV exposure.
Do I need an appointment?
I do accept same day appointments, however I recommend scheduling in advance to secure your preferred date & time. Please be aware that we book our brow and bikini appointments every 15-30 min. Please be early or on time to avoid losing your appointment. If you’re unable to keep an appointment we appreciate calling within 24-hours prior if possible.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Payments by cash & check are most appreciated, but I gladly accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex, & Discover!
